Founder Jay Crawford, MD
Jay Crawford, MD was educated and trained at some of the most prestigious institutions in the United States. He was awarded a B.S. degree majoring in chemistry, with a strong concentration in math, physics, and engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point. He then obtained an M.D. from Vanderbilt Medical School, consistently ranked in the top 20 schools in the nation. He performed his Orthopaedic training and fellowship at Duke University Medical Center, also consistently ranked at the top of national rankings.
Dr. Crawford’s interest in software design and automation started when his father purchased a TRS-80 home computer in 1978. In college, Dr. Crawford led his class year in academic performance in the Advanced Computer Programming requirement, writing a Fortran program that solved mathematical puzzles. Computer programming took a back seat to Medical School and Orthopaedic Training until Dr. Crawford acquired his first mobile computing device (a Handspring Visor) in 2000. He presently uses both Android and Apple devices and appreciates the unique benefits that each platform offers.
